Meet Haowen Khor
Hey, there! I'm Haowen, an industrial designer born in 2003 who is motivated by an ambition to create functional and striking designs that enhance everyday experiences. Through my studies and work, I integrate creativity and practical solutions, aiming to create products that are not only visually appealing but also sustainable and user-centred. As an upcoming graduate, I'm eager to offer fresh perspectives and a great eye for detail to all of my future projects!
Where am I from?
As a designer, Malaysia's cultural diversity stimulates my creativity. The combined influence of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous traditions provides limitless inspiration, from vibrant festivals to intricate art forms. As a proud Malaysian, the fusion of traditional and modern styles provides a versatile canvas on which I can develop one-of-a-kind, contemporary designs.
Why Design?
Since childhood, I’ve loved bringing ideas to life — cutting cardboard, folding paper, and crafting realistic models of automobiles. Constantly designing accessories for my toys sparked a passion for creating and building that’s stayed with me ever since.
This passion led me to pursue Industrial Design right after high school, giving me purpose and direction. The thrill of seeing my designs evolve through each step of the design process to a final product is a feeling I can never outgrow.
